Award received: Fok Ying Tung Outstanding Young Teacher of Higher Education

At the begining of March, 2018, Dr. Yue Xiao has been awarded third prize for excellent results in teaching and scientific research in the 16th Fok Ying Tung Outstanding Young Teacher of Higher Education, announced by the Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges in the Ministry of Education’s Office.

This young faculty career award, Fok Ying Tung Outstanding Young Teacher of Higher Education, honors 100 people all over China, including 5 first prizes, 15 second prizes and 80 third prizes.

The Fok Ying Tung Education Foundation was co-founded by the Ministry of Education and Dr. Henry Fok Ying Tung, a well-known Hong Kong entrepreneur who donated 100 million HKD in 1986. The Young Faculty Career Award was set up to finance and reward teachers under 35 who have made outstanding achievements in teaching and research. It is presented every two years.

One other WUT (Wuhan University of Technology) teacher, Tang Haoling, from the State Key Laboratory of Advanced Technology for Materials Synthesis and Processing, received the 14th in 2014. WUT teachers have been now honored two times.

An Associate Professor from State Key Lab of Silicate Materials for Architectures in Wuhan University of Technology, China since January 2014. Received PhD degree in Road and Railway Engineering in 2013 from Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands. His research interests are on asphalt pavement surfacing, road and pavement materials, asphalt pavement design.
